Privacy Policy: Tegami

Summary

Tegami does not collect, transmit or sell any data. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code. The app contains no networking code.

What Tegami stores, and where

• Photos you take or choose, the text read from them, and the details you save (dates, amounts, names, notes).
• All of it stays on your iPhone, in the app's private storage, protected by iOS Data Protection. Photos are additionally encrypted with a key kept in your iPhone's Keychain. The key is never sent to us.
• Reading happens on the device, using Apple Vision and, on supported iPhones running iOS 26 or later, Apple's on-device language model. Nothing is sent to Apple or to us for reading.
• Text read from handwriting can be wrong. Tegami shows what it read next to the original so you can check and correct it.

When data leaves your iPhone

Only when you choose to:

• Export: a PDF you create and share with the system share sheet goes wherever you send it.
• Backups and moving phones: if you use iCloud Backup, a computer backup or Apple's phone-to-phone transfer, iOS includes the app's records, photos and their key in it under Apple's terms and your backup encryption. We cannot see them.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details and no personal information from Apple.

Children

Tegami is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Your control

Delete any record in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. There is nothing held elsewhere for us to delete.
